TriboMAN is a special focus group conducting research and developments of tribology (friction, wear, and lubrication) for enhanced manufacturing (machining and metal forming). We aim to lead tribology innovations into an era of modern manufacturing and to drive tribology innovations through transdisciplinary concepts and technologies for greener and more sustainable manufacturing applications. In addition, to educate undergraduate and postgraduate students, we conduct R&D projects for government agencies and for companies, on a confidential basis.

Tribology is an interdisciplinary field that includes manufacturing; mechanical; materials; chemicals; biomedical; mechatronics; food engineering; tribo-electric and more. We focus on tribology in manufacturing processes from the viewpoint of understanding the fundamentals of sliding friction in those processes and the use of lubricants to control friction in manufacturing processes at the micro down to nanoscales.
