Laser Surface Texturing

Laser engraving vs. Micro-milling

Surface texturing by laser technology has attracted much interest because laser processing allows the producing of topographical features on almost any material such as metal, ceramic and glass. This low-cost technique is an effective technology that has be utilised in many engineering applications, such as fabricating the precise geometry of a surface pattern on numerous types of materials. Our study aims to explore the effects of textured surface in the area of tribology, erosion wear and corrosion applications.
