Programme Structure
The Dual-Degree Programme offers students the opportunity to study both at IIUM and Chang Gung University (CGU), Taiwan, earning a bachelor’s degree from each institution upon successful completion.
Programme Overview
The programme consists of two stages:
- Stage One (Years 1 & 2): Students will study at IIUM, completing 71 credit hours. They will also undertake the Engineering Industrial Training (EIT) in Malaysia at the end of the third year, due to Taiwan’s immigration regulations. In total, 76 credit hours are completed at IIUM (out of 139 total credit hours required).
- Stage Two (Years 3 & 4): Students will study at CGU, completing the remaining 63 credit hours needed for IIUM’s requirements, while also fulfilling CGU’s academic requirements during the two-year period.
Finance Matters
Students will need to consider tuition and related fees for both IIUM and CGU. Here is an outline of the financial arrangement:
- Stage One (IIUM): Students pay full tuition and related fees at IIUM. CGU waives its tuition and fees during this period.
- Stage Two (CGU): Students receive a scholarship from CGU covering tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, and a stipend of NTD2000/week during Years 3 and 4. If students exceed the two-year study period, they will be charged based on credit hours. Students continue to pay IIUM tuition fees at the standard rate.
This unique international experience provides students with valuable skills and insights from both IIUM and CGU, preparing them for global engineering careers.
