The Department of Civil Engineering’s research group, the Cataclysmic Management and Sustainable Development Research Group (CAMSDE), is immensely pleased to be hosting Dr. Rijalul Fikri from Universitas Gadjah Mada Indonesia for its monthly webinar. Dr. Rijalul will be speaking on “Seismic Assessment in New Zealand and Its Applications in South East Asia Countries”.

A graduate of the University of Auckland, New Zealand and also of the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, our esteemed speaker’s main area of research expertise is on earthquake engineering in general and on the seismic vulnerability assessment of reinforced concrete frames with masonry infill buildings in particular. He has also worked as a structural engineer with experience in structural design and reinforced concrete.

With the vast knowledge and experience to be shared by Dr. Rijalul, it is hoped that this webinar will prove to be an effective platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge benefitting researchers, academicians and students alike from IIUM. Furthermore, it represents an opportunity for further collaboration and the strengthening of research networking between IIUM and Universitas Gadjah Mada, insyaAllah.
