IAP Geotechnical Forensic ENGINEERING

The Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) session on Geotechnical Forensic Engineering, held on 18 April 2025, successfully brought civil engineering students and faculty together for an enriching two-hour event that bridged academic knowledge with industry experience.

Our esteemed speaker, Ir. Hj. Shahul Hameed bin Hj. Mydin, Executive Director of Jurutera Perunding Zaaba Sdn. Bhd., delivered an insightful talk on the real-world applications of geotechnical forensic engineering. Drawing from his extensive professional background, he shared valuable lessons from real-life case studies and offered career advice for aspiring engineers.

CFS Gambang Talk 2025

The CFS Gambang Talk 2025 was a full-day engagement program designed to inspire and inform foundation students about the exciting journey ahead in civil engineering. CIVESA RAYA 2025 & Mentor-Mentee was a heartwarming and vibrant event that brought together students and lecturers of the Kulliyyah of Engineering in a spirit of celebration, reflection, and meaningful connection. Hosted during the festive month of Syawal, the event successfully merged cultural celebration with academic support, emphasizing the importance of unity, mentorship, and community building within the engineering fraternity.

The Gombak Exhibition Engage was an inspiring and informative outreach event that brought civil engineering into the public spotlight. Organized with the goal of strengthening community ties and promoting awareness, the exhibition successfully showcased the vital role civil engineers play in shaping safe, sustainable, and efficient infrastructure.

Visitors were engaged through interactive exhibits, real-world case studies, and hands-on demonstrations that illustrated how civil engineering touches every part of our daily lives—from roads and bridges to clean water systems and disaster-resilient buildings.

SITE VISIT JERANTUT

A two-day site visit to Jerantut provided civil engineering students with a unique and practical opportunity to observe slope rectification efforts firsthand. The visit, organized in collaboration with the Public Works Department (JKR), took participants along the road from Kampung Tuit to Kampung Mat Daling, where various slope repair and stabilization techniques were underway.

🏞️ Real-World Engineering Exposure

Students were able to observe ongoing slope rectification work and gain insights into the technical and procedural aspects of geotechnical engineering. The visit offered a clear overview of the repair methods used, challenges encountered, and the systematic approach taken by engineers in the field.

📘 Bridging Theory and Practice

Through guided tours and technical briefings by JKR engineers, students were exposed to engineering principles in action, including soil stabilization, erosion control, and safety management. The experience provided a valuable context to classroom learning, enhancing understanding of complex slope failure mechanisms and rectification strategies.
