TEMPLATES AND FORMS RELATED TO POSTGRADUATE STUDIES AT KULLIYYAH OF ENGINEERING, IIUM

SEMESTER 1
In Semester 1, PhD and Master (by Research) students need to submit Research Proposal at the end of semester. After approval by the Kulliyyah postgraduate committee, the Postgraduate Student candidature status will be automatically registered Comprehensive Exam (CE) for next semester.
Master (Mix Mode and Coursework) students have to complete 80% credit hours to submit the Research Proposal. After approval by the Kulliyyah postgraduate committee, the Postgraduate Student candidature status will be automatically registered Dissertation for next semester. 

Forms for semester 1

  1. Registration of Research Proposal Form.
  2. Registration Form (Research Methodology & RKGS).
  3. Research Proposal Template.
  4. Appointment of Supervisory Committee & Endorsement of Research Title .
    [Required Documents: Research Proposal with SV verification, CV for Appointment of Field Supervisor (if related) ]
SEMESTER 2
Once passing the Comprehensive Exam, the Postgraduate Student candidature status will be automatically registered as Thesis for next semester.

  1. Comprehensive Exam Proposal Template
  2. Proposal of Comprehensive Examination (CE) Committee
  3. List of KOE Staff for Arabic Abstract
  4. Comprehensive Examination Report
SEMESTER 3 ONWARDS
Postgraduate students in Semester 3 onwards (after passing the Comprehensive Exam), need to submit research progress reports via i-monitor.
  1. Research Progress Report Presentation (Dept. level)
  2. Research Progress Report via imonitor
3 MONTHS DUE TO SUBMISSION
  1. Notification of Intention To Submit Research Work
  2. Appointment of External/Internal Examiners
SUBMISSION OF THESIS
  1. Certification of Completion of Research Work for Master (by Research) and PHD Programme
  2. Certification of Completion of Research Work for Master (by Mixed Mode/Coursework) Programme
  3. Checklist for Acceptance of Thesis/Dissertation
SUBMISSION OF HARDBOUND THESIS
  1. Review of Thesis Binding
  2. List of Correction
EXTENSION, STUDY LEAVE, APPEAL AND OTHERS
The application of study leave and/or extension, need to be done one (1) semester earlier prior to the affected semester. 
  1. Change of Mode of Programme
  2. Change of Programme
  3. Change of Study Status
  4. Extension Beyond Normal Study Period
  5. Leave of absence study leave
  6. Revision of Title/Supervisory Committee
  7. Transfer Credit/Exemption of Courses
APPEAL
  1. Change of Mode of Programme
  2. Change of Programme
