Research Academic Highlight: Ts. Dr. Norhuda Hidayah Nordin

Presentation Titles: High Entropy Alloys: A New Frontier in Materials EngineeringProperties, Trends, and Emerging Applications

We are proud to highlight an engaging research presentation by Ts. Dr. Norhuda Hidayah Nordin, one of the proud AMSERU members. This presentation was delivered upon invitation from the Applied Mechanics Engineering Department, Engineering Technical College, Middle Technical University, Baghdad, Iraq.

In this session, Dr. Norhuda explored the exciting world of High Entropy Alloys (HEAs)—a transformative class of materials engineered through the near-equiatomic mixing of five or more elements. HEAs are pushing the boundaries of materials science due to their exceptional:

  • Mechanical strength and toughness
  • Corrosion and oxidation resistance
  • High-temperature stability

The presentation delved into the fundamental properties, latest research trends, and emerging applications of HEAs in sectors such as aerospace, biomedical, and energy.

🎓 Inspiring the Next Generation of Materials Engineers

This research sharing reflects IIUM’s commitment to excellence in engineering education. It demonstrates how cutting-edge topics like HEAs can bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, fostering curiosity and innovation among our students.

Through such initiatives, the Kulliyyah of Engineering aims to:

  • Expose students to frontier research areas,
  • Encourage critical thinking and scientific exploration,
  • Prepare graduates with knowledge aligned to industry and future technologies.

We congratulate Ts. Dr. Norhuda for her impactful contribution to research excellence and for nurturing a research-driven mindset within our engineering community.
