Dr. Suazlan Mt Aznam Represents IIUM at the 1st Malaysia Ansys Academic Innovation Conference
We are proud to announce that Dr. Suazlan, who is one of the proud AMSERU members was invited as a speaker at the 1st Malaysia Ansys Academic Innovation Conference.
In his presentation titled: “Integrating Simulation into Undergraduate Engineering Education with the ANSYS Experience at IIUM”, Dr. Suazlan shared IIUM’s journey in embedding ANSYS simulation tools into foundational engineering courses — starting as early as Year 1 and Year 2.
🧠 Bridging Theory and Intuition Through Simulation
Dr. Suazlan emphasized that while engineering education often involves complex derivations and heavy mathematical formulations, simulation tools like ANSYS Fluent and ANSYS Mechanical can bridge the gap between abstract theory and real-world application. By incorporating simulation early, students gain a deeper and more intuitive understanding of critical topics such as:
- Heat transfer
- Fluid flow
- Structural analysis
All are made accessible using the free ANSYS Student version.
