IDP Workshop 1
On 9th November 2024, IDP students (BTEN/CHEN 4300) participated in a comprehensive workshop on Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP). Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fathilah Binti Ali, the workshop was held in Computer Lab, E5, Kulliyyah of Engineering. The workshop was conducted by En. Haji Ts Mohd Faudzi and En. Haji Ts Mohd Akkil.

Overview of PFD by Hj Faudzi

The workshop covered a wide range of topics, from the fundamentals of P&IDs to advanced concepts like HAZOP analysis and plant layout. The insightful presentations and discussions between students and experts facilitated a deeper understanding of these critical aspects of chemical engineering. By analysing real-world case studies and practicing hands-on exercises, students learned to develop accurate PFDs and P&IDs, identified potential hazards and risks through HAZOP studies, and applied their knowledge to solve complex process design challenges.
