The session commenced with an inspiring address by our Head of Department (HOD), Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohamed Saedi Jami, who warmly congratulated the students on reaching this significant milestone in their academic journey. He acknowledged their hard work, dedication, and determination over the years, highlighting how they have grown not only in technical knowledge but also in leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohamed Saedi Jami also shared insights on the programme outcomes, student achievements, and feedback received over the years. He emphasized the department’s commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring that students are equipped with the latest industry knowledge and skills.
The students then had an opportunity to voice their thoughts, share their experiences, and provide valuable feedback about their time in the program. This interactive session allowed students to express their gratitude, discuss any concerns, and suggest improvements for future cohorts. Their insights are crucial in helping the department enhance the academic and professional development of future students.
The session then followed with insightful talks from esteemed department members to share their expertise and guidance. Prof. Dr. Ma’an Fahmi Rashid Al-Khatib representative as a senior lecturer delivered an inspiring session on personal and professional growth. He reminded students that learning does not stop at graduation as it is a lifelong process that requires adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to professional growth. In his speech, he encouraged the graduating students to pursue excellence in their careers, uphold integrity, and contribute positively to the engineering profession. He also emphasized the importance of resilience in overcoming challenges, urging students to embrace opportunities for innovation and leadership. His words were not just a reflection of the past but a motivation for the future, reminding students that they are now part of a larger network of engineers making a difference in the world.
AP Dr. Dzun Noraini provided a detailed overview of the journey to becoming a Professional Engineer, discussing the necessary steps, industry expectations, and key challenges to anticipate. AP Dr. Farah Ahmad introduced students to Postgraduate (PG) Opportunities, shedding light on research prospects, scholarship options, and how further studies can open doors to new career possibilities. Dr. Mariatul led a session on Alumni Matters, emphasizing the importance of networking, staying connected with the department, and utilizing the alumni network for career growth and mentorship. After that, lecturers presented that day having a chance to deliver their last advice to all students.
To recognizing and celebrating student excellence, we presented the ‘Best Presentation Prof. Suleyman Award’ to outstanding individuals who demonstrated exceptional presentation skills, knowledge, and confidence. Each recipient received a certificate and a cash prize. This semester the award goes to: Sr. Areena Suffiyah binti Kamarul Azlan, Sr. Izzati binti Aziz and Br. Mohamed Irfan bin Mohd Isa. Congratulations to the winners!
