On 29th November 2024, the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) under Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) approved the decision to accredit CHES department programme (Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours) with 6-year accreditation (with interim) for graduating student of 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030; following in reference to the accreditation visits conducted on 28th – 29th May 2024
The objective of this accreditation is to ensure that graduates of the accredited engineering programmes satisfy the minimum academic requirements for registration as a graduate engineer with the BEM. In addition, this accreditation ensure that Continual Quality Improvement (CQI) is being practiced by Institution of Higher Learning (IHL). Accreditation may also serve as a tool to benchmark engineering programmes offered by IHL in Malaysia.
