The opening ceremony of the academic visit meeting was commenced with opening speech from Deputy Dean of Postgraduate & Responsible Research of Kulliyyah of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Sarina Sulaiman, followed by presentation from the Head of Department (HOD) of Chemical Engineering & Sustainability, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohammed Saedi Jami and Dr Fatimah from UI. It’s interesting to learn that UI has dual degree program for Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Bachelor of Bioprocess Engineering, in collaboration with several overseas institutions. UI UG Programme includes nine elective courses, which could be taken in another university for credit transfer.
The event proceeded with presentation gift exchanged ceremony, which include handmade product from BPMERU (organic scented candle) and a KOE flagship (kelulut soap).
PG Benchmarking discussion was led by Dr Farah Ahmad, whereas UG Benchmarking was led by AP Dr Noor Illi Mohamad Puad. After the discussion, the delegate was invited for laboratory tour to Bioprocess Engineering lab, Cell & Tissue Engineering lab and Bioanalytical & Bioinstrumentation lab.
