       10 Aug 2023
A total of 14 members from CHES Department participated in Universiti Malaysia Pahang Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) benchmarking visit at Gambang, Pahang on 10th August 2023. The benchmarking visit to UMP was conducted with the primary objective of gaining valuable insights into the Chemical Engineering Program offered by UMPSA. This visit also aimed to learn from UMPSA’s experiences in running their Chemical Engineering program, using it as a benchmark for our own Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours program and Master of Science (Biotechnology Engineering) programs. Additionally, the feedback gathered during this benchmarking exercise will serve as a crucial input for the academic curriculum improvement process at our institution.

The visit commenced with opening remarks by representatives from both institutions, highlighting the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing between our programs.

The implementation of outcome-based education was clearly demonstrated in their curriculum. In addition, UMPSA has effectively integrated practical experiences, industrial visits, and internships into their curriculum, enhancing the students’ practical skills and industry readiness.
