The visit commenced with opening remarks by representatives from both institutions, highlighting the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing between our programs.
The next agenda was the discussion on UG and PG programme review of UMPSA’s Chemical Engineering Program. Discussions included program structure, course offerings, curriculum design, faculty qualifications, and teaching methods, etc. UMPSA’s program offers a well-structured curriculum with a strong emphasis on core chemical engineering principles.
The implementation of outcome-based education was clearly demonstrated in their curriculum. In addition, UMPSA has effectively integrated practical experiences, industrial visits, and internships into their curriculum, enhancing the students’ practical skills and industry readiness.
In the afternoon session, participants had the opportunity to tour UMPSA’s laboratories and facilities. This session was instrumental in understanding the infrastructure and resources available to support the Chemical Engineering Program.
The benchmarking visit to UMPSA’s Chemical Engineering Program provided our delegation with valuable insights and best practices that can be adopted to enhance our own programs. We express our gratitude to Universiti Malaysia Pahang Sultan Abdullah for their warm hospitality and willingness to share their experiences. This benchmarking visit has undoubtedly enriched our understanding and provided a valuable roadmap for the future development of our programs.
