WELCOME TO DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE IN ENGINEERING
The Department of Science in Engineering (SIE) at IIUM is part of Kulliyyah of Engineering. The department is by in large a service department, teaching about 1500 students each semester, from calculus to advance engineering mathematics. The department provides range of courses such as calculus I & II, differential equations, computational methods and statistics, complex variables and partial differential equation, discrete mathematics and professional ethics from Islamic perspective. Our courses equip engineering students with the necessary mathematical skills, analytical abilities, factual knowledge, and communication skills to enable them to work effectively, not only toward their degree but also to deal with problems encountered in an increasingly competitive technological world.
Our faculty and staff are fully committed and are successfully proceeding towards the excellence in teaching, research and services. The department has dynamic research groups carrying out individual research as well as collaborative research nationally and internationally.
