T<\/span><\/span>he Chemical Engineering Students and Teachers Association (CHESTA) hosted its highly anticipated Annual Grand Dinner, themed “Movie Characters,” on a star-studded evening that brought students and lecturers together to celebrate the spirit of unity, creativity, and academic excellence. The evening began on a spiritual note with the recitation of dua, setting the tone for a meaningful and blessed event. This was followed by an inspiring welcome address by the Head of the Department, Prof. Saedi, who expressed pride in the department\u2019s achievements in organizing the event. Next, the Chairperson of CHESTA, Br. Alif Ziqri, encouraged everyone in his speech to have fun at the dinner and cherish the moment together.<\/p>\n

As the dinner commenced, guests were treated to a delectable feast. The main dishes included Nasi Beriyani Hyderabad, Chicken Varuval, Papadom, and Raita, along with Lemon Tea as the refreshment. For side dishes and desserts, guests enjoyed Chicken Samosa, Cappuccino Cake, Caramel Pudding, and Ice Cream. Amidst the dining session, the stage came alive with a heartfelt singing performance by a talented student, Br. Following the performance, the excitement in the room escalated with a lucky draw session. Participants eagerly awaited their chance to win, as their names were drawn at random. This segment added an extra layer of thrill to the evening, bringing cheers and applause as winners collected their prizes.<\/p>\n

Adding a touch of nostalgia, the audience was treated to a montage video presentation titled “Chesta Core.” The video began with cute bloopers from the Chairperson and Co-chairperson’s introduction speech, which filled the hall with laughter. Before the montage video commenced, there were special speeches from the Students’ Activity Advisor, Dr. Munira, and the Students’ Academic Advisor, Dr. Azlin. The video highlighted the funny and unforgettable moments of students\u2019 degree lives as chemical engineering students, serving as a reminder of how much the CHESTA family has grown together.<\/span><\/p>\n

The excitement continued with a lively movie trivia game session using Kahoot!, hosted by Br. Arieff. Participants demonstrated their knowledge of cinematic classics and modern blockbusters. The interactive competition sparked friendly rivalry and laughter as everyone aimed for the top spot on the leaderboard. Next came the “Surprise Under the Seat” segment. There were 10 hidden envelopes under selected seats, and the lucky ones were called upon to the stage. However, not all of them were winners, as some envelopes contained messages saying, “Sorry, Try Again.” Others included tasks like completing a slogan, choosing whether to share or keep the gift received, or selecting the person they loved most in the hall. This segment was truly fun-filled as the audience eagerly waited to see who would be chosen and what prizes would follow. In a touching moment, the lucky students selected the lecturers, Dr. Firdaus and Dr. Dilla, as the people they loved most, showcasing the heartfelt bonds shared within the CHESTA community.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Best Dress Award, which celebrated the creative genius of attendees who embraced the movie character theme. Lecturers and students alike graced the event in spectacular costumes, ranging from iconic characters like Joker from Batman to timeless cinematic legends such as the Men In Black. The awards for the lecturers were humorously won by their children, who outshone their parents by wearing costumes of their favorite cartoon characters, such as BoBoiBoy, Anna from Frozen, Princess Jasmine from Aladdin. For the students’ category, the top three male and female participants were called on stage, and the audience conducted live voting via Google Form to choose the winners.<\/span><\/p>\n
