Symmetry is a processing simulation software, where IIUM has received\u00a040 licenses, sponsored by Schlumberger (SLB),\u00a0through\u00a0the initiative of\u00a0BPMERU. The training was delivered by an expert user from industry, Dr Zulfan Adi Putra, Supply Chain Optimization Engineer of Exxonmobil. Dr Zulfan has vast experience as Process Engineer, with previous employments at PETRONAS, TMC Chemical, AkzoNobel, Trespa International and Wijaya Karya. The workshop was attended by lecturers and postgraduate students from Department of Chemical Engineering and Sustainability, Kulliyyah of Engineering, IIUM.<\/p>\n

From the workshop, many academics found immense significance in the application of software for the simulation of unit operations by IDP (Integrated Design Project \u2013 equivalent to Capstone Project) students. The application of the software is not just limited to IDP but could be expanded to Final Year Project (FYP) and Postgraduate research projects.
