On 11th<\/sup> May 2022, the final series\nof Green School Module with Setiabudi Secondary School (STB) students under\nGreen School Module program, led by Dr. Nur Idayu Ayob, has been held at Anjung\nBudi of STB during the Co-Curriculum period. Closing Ceremony of the program\nalso was held together with the final module activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this program, the students have been\nintroduced with Module 4: Fabrication of Water Filter from Charcoal led by Dr.\nAlya Naili Rozhan and Br. Ahmad Abdul Mun\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2im Ismail as the representative from\nDr. Hadi Purwanto\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s team and AMSERU. In the demonstrations and workshops, the\nstudents were divided into group of 3 and assisted by facilitators from AMSERU\nmembers and volunteers from MMESA. In conjunction with these modules, the\nstudents had executed the experiments; heat waste wooden materials to create\nchar coal, observed the char under microscope and watched the demonstration of water\nfilter using the produced charcoal. After the experiments, the students were\nasked to answer some simple questions and complete the report of the experiment\nfor Module 4. The students were actively participated during the experiment and\nwere excited with the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the experiment for Module 4 was\ncompleted, a simple closing ceremony was held in conjunction with the\ncompletion of the four modules for the Green School Module Program. Throughout\nthis program, 4 modules had been introduced; Module 1 \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Biodegradable plastic,\n2 \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Fabrication of Plastic from Starch, 3 \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Upcycling Used Cooking Oil to Soap\nand 4 \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Charcoal as Water Filter. Dr. Ahmad Zahirani as the Head of Department\nof Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Dr. Norshahida Sarifuddin as the\nCoordinator for AMSERU, Dr. Maisarah Tajuddin from Green Waste Selangor (GWS) and\nCikgu Hazril as the representative from STB also attended the ceremony. During\nthe ceremony, certificates were given to all 33 students who have registered\nand participated all the modules program. Sr. Humairah Muslisham has been\nawarded as the Best Participant and Sr. Alya Raihana Azidin as the winner for\nGreen Materials Video Competition in the Green School Module Program. They\nreceived certificates, presents from AMSERU, canvas eco-bag and present\nsponsored by GWS. The ceremony was closed with photo session as a memory.\nOverall AMSERU has received a lot of positive responses from the students and\nteachers regarding the program. Throughout this program also, the students were\nable to deepen their knowledge and interest in Materials Engineering and waste\nmanagement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do hope this program will be\nbeneficial to the young generation especially the school students in saving the\nplanets and be rahmah<\/em> to the earth. Together we contribute to the\nsustainability of our environment and planet. \nCongratulations to all winners and all students who actively\nparticipated in the program.
